A branch of Sandfire Farms, Inc., Whinnys & Wildflowers is a family-owned farm in Lizton, IN, blending the magic of flowers with the wonder of horses. Founded by Bonny Nowlin (with help from her husband, Tom), a lifelong equestrian and passionate caretaker, this farm is rooted in faith, family, and the joy of bringing beauty to others.
From vibrant, locally grown blooms to enchanting unicorn photo shoots, we create unforgettable moments—whether through nature’s elegance or a child’s magical encounter with a gentle pony. At Whinnys & Wildflowers, every petal and hoofbeat tells a story of love, wonder, and a little bit of farm-grown magic.
Sandfire Farms, Inc. is the home of Whinnys & Wildflowers (our fresh cut flower farm), Mystic’s Magical Garden (our wildflower photoshoot garden), Stormy the Unicorn, and our photoshoot location for the Indianapolis Area. Located on approximately 8 acres NW of Brownsburg, our farm is convenient to most of Indianapolis. This is our 17th year in business, 9th season of unicorn photoshoots, and 5th year as a Cut Flower Farm!
A special thank you goes out to everyone who has supported us through the many years of parties and events! Our primary farm business has changed, but we remain the same. Our goal is still to bring joy to those around us through flowers, our sweet animals, and sharing our farm with others! Whether through a visit to our farm, or flower sales, we hope to see many of you in our newest adventures…
Whinnys & Wildflowers– Our business has evolved to focus primarily on our fresh cut flower farm. As the aging of our animals became more obvious, we started to grow and sell cut flowers to care for them. Approximately 90% of our flower sales goes towards helping to pay for our elderly/semi-retired farm animals and some freeloaders too!
We are working hard to make our farm a sustainable, regenerative flower farm by building our soil naturally, applying low till practices, and using only organic inputs on our crops. It is a process, and we are still learning, but we are determined to do right by this land that God has loaned to us.

Unicorn Photoshoots and more…While we are primarily focusing on our flower farm, we are now offering our unicorn, Stormy, for photoshoots here at our farm only. Our farm, Sandfire Farms, is also available for private or professional mini photoshoots as a photoshoot location for the Indianapolis area.
There may also be the occasional petting zoo, mainly for senior facilities or hospital visits. The animals certainly enjoy their visits with others, but we must be more particular about traveling, due to the age of many of them (starting at 13, going to 32!).We feel we owe them a wonderful, carefree life, to thank them for the many years they happily brought joy to children and adults all around Indiana!
